KIREI KOTOMINE is a member of the Diamond Coterie, given the titles Comer to the Void, Blessed Savior, and Defender of Innocents in the past (future) Drabwurld in recognition of his many feats. A religious leader of two churches in the Drabwurld, the Church of Leathann and the Eaglais na Solais, he also runs the Orphanage to Pol, dedicated to the God of Children. He is devoted to the causes of the Diamond Coterie and their given allies—Garnet, Amber, and Amethyst. He has a vested interest especially in the Gods and great Powers of the Drabwurld, including the Void. Kirei can give out quests at varying levels of difficulty for prizes and title rewards. Kirei's quests are open to any character in the game, at this time, and he is very willing to work with even individuals whose views are opposed to his.

how do i apply for and complete a quest?
Questing is easy! Just follow these steps.
1. Reply to this entry with a comment requesting one of the quests listed above! All I need is a character name and some semblance of the quest title and you're good to go. Comments and comment threads are screened at first. I'll reply to comments to grant the requests and confirm the quest is yours. Once the request is granted by me, you can start questing!
2. Complete your quest! I'm available at any point to answer questions for you, provide information about the quest, or help you out with anything else that might come up. Although quest assignment/quest turn-in threads are not required, I'm open to playing these out IC-ly in Kirei's IC inbox or a log entry. Contact me on this page if you would like to handwave or discuss anything OOC-ly.
Keep in mind that all the quest requirements must be satisfied in order for that quest to be successful. Organize and write your character completing the quest as you will! Post quest logs to the log community. You can use OOC posts in the OOC community to request help from other player characters.
3. After completing your quest, reply to our thread on this page with any and all links associated with the quest! Basically, show me whatever I need to see to know you satisfied all the quest requirements! I'll answer back to confirm you successfully satisfied the requirements of the quest. Then, you tell me what you want for your reward (if applicable), and we discuss and confirm that!
4. Comment to the Title Roster page to be given a new title and have your information updated.

what are the quest requirements?
Standard requirements for game quests can always be found here! Every quest requires, at a minimum, 1.5K words of writing by you. I specify other requirements right in the quest listings, and feel free to ask if you have any questions!
█
what are the quest rewards?
I'm trying out something a little different with rewards. You complete a quest for Kirei, your character gets to choose from the list! Below are various rewards Kirei's capable of offering:
When you complete a quest and hand it in, and after I confirm the quest requirements have been satisfied, you can choose a mix of 2 from the list, we'll discuss it, then you're on your way with your own individualized quest rewards! Please note that I'm sure I've forgotten some things Kirei can offer, so if you want something else and it isn't listed above, just let me know and we can probably still make it happen.
- jewelry, weapons, and other objects, blessed/etched with runes/otherwise enchanted for protection and other effects (please note: things like teleportation or invisibility enchantments would be very difficult for him to obtain)
- cursed weapons that resist healing
- potions, salves, and other healing items capable of treating multiple conditions
- magical training—in healing magic (self-surgery/miraculous healing magic), shard activation and shard magic level 1
- martial arts training
- sword throwing/ranged weaponry training
- clegs (fast, winged horses for travel)
- gold
- beautiful flowers and plants
- instruction in shrine-making or methods of worship
- standing in the churches, the orphanage, or Leathann
- WILDCARD OPTION if you just want me to pick something (or everything) and surprise you!

what do quests do?
Quests allow your character to gain an IC reputation in the game world! Benefits of quests range from the awarding of unique titles characters are known by to building favor or establishing themselves in certain locations on the world map. They may even climb up the ranks of secret criminal circles or cults; come across rare lore, creatures, and events; and earn gold as well as valuable rewards!
Quests also let you develop CR and allow your character the means to carry out their own plots. I try to make the benefits of a quest clear in each quest listing!

Requested Quest Type(s): Arts/Gods
Details of the Requested Quest: I'd love a mixture of the suggestions for the quest request - improving the church, helping orphans, and observing a ritual, if you could give me an idea of what Steve might see. The locations page mentions a well and an appreciation for the beauty of creation, just wanted to check for any specifics that I needed to know. Leathann's church would be the most likely location. If there are any repairs/improvements/arting that needs to happen around this location, Steve's your man. There are no small jobs.
Rewards: A cleg would be nice for the earthbound cap. :>
Anything else?: If this doesn't work, I have my eye on an alt quest!
Quest Title: APPRECIATING THE NYMPHS WE TOTALLY WIPED OUT FOR THIS ISLAND
Quest Details: There's a long corridor down one side of the church that could use some sprucing up. Clean, repair, and generally fix it up to look nice! Kirei wants some sort of artistic memorial that could double as a shrine placed there, specifically to the Sisterhood that lifted Leathann in the old world—he is clear that the focal point of it must be a single sylph holding one green shard in either hand, with the Void swirling before her. Tell the children the story of Leathann (be truthful!) and christen the finished work with holy water and a sincere prayer—Kirei will provide the holy water, and Steve can watch worshipers around the church to learn how to carry out the ritual.
Location: The First Holy Church of Leathann
Requirements: 1.5K words of Steve repairing the hallway, making a memorial to the Sisterhood of Nymphs, telling the orphans the story of Leathann, and blessing the memorial. Extra wordcount will net extra rewards!
Rewards: A cleg, plus another reward of your choosing! Favor with Leathann. c:
For the church itself— What's on the Locations page is generally it! You can also look at this log and this log for more ideas. It's hollowed out of an abandoned building, so it has that sort of feel to it; a ramshackle church, just kind of put together, the stonework is pretty cracked and falling apart, etc.! The pews and altar and other features are very much just... assembled out of whatever they could find. The church would be decorated with colorful sashes and ornaments for Gilgamesh's oncoming festival!
For the ritual- Usually I just go with whatever makes sense, but you can assume Steve sees a priest/priestess sprinkling holy water over a shrine to Pol—which would be a golden statue of a child—and engaging in brief prayer. Steve will have to do prayer as part of his quest, and the main idea for that is to be sincere! There are no specific words he has to say or anything like that.
