[You’re suddenly in an open, expansive room. It’s huge. If you’re familiar with the setting or have the ability to compare it to something similar, it’s like the interior of a church—pews surround you, all centered around an altar, and all of the normal religious paraphernalia—Bibles, baptismal tools, sacramental wine and bread—is present as well, in its expected place for a church or set up on a table before the altar. The area is for the most part so dark, however, that you cannot clearly see around you for farther than a few feet. It feels like nighttime, but, well, you can’t look beyond the shadows to spy the windows to know for sure...

In this deep darkness, the well-lit altar is like a beacon. Blazing candles encircle it, and you can perceive at least four human-shaped figures standing upon it. Are they alive? Watch long enough, and you’ll understand that they don’t move, shift, or even breathe.

Also, you are dressed like an angel. ( 1 , 2 , 3 , or 4 ) Have fun!

You are directly in the middle of the central aisle, one that leads to the altar. What will you do?]

1) you are welcome to tag in at any time. this heart game will be running from december 10th to december 16th! please realize i have rl responsibilities and will not always be available to tag during the mornings/afternoons of every day, but in general i will be around.

2) my goal is to get everyone to at least one "room" outside of the church, but if that doesn't happen, it's okay! c:

3) this is my first time running a game thing/heart game, so if you notice any major problems or just want to check in with me about something, please do! i am doing my best (exercise_smiley)

[....all right. well. he's gonna walk a little further into the room, then]

[When your eyes finally adjust to the light, you can see that there are what appear to be coffins, lining the expansive chamber in two rows.

Some of the lids are hanging off, half on, or tipped to the ground. Others still cover their interiors.

The presence of death is undeniable. Nothing is alive here—

but at the same time, nothing is really dead? Hm.]

[well, that's not ominous at all. gonna...tentatively head over to take a closer look at the coffins.]

[The first coffin you examine has its lid half-covering it.

When you peer inside, you will see Lilith of Larkspur. —But, ah, she looks rather lifeless.]

[that abruptly sends him stumbling back with a small strangled sound and a quick thudding of the heart, but then he takes a breath. tries to assure himself that it isn't her. not really.

still...he steps closer again, reaches out to touch her with the tips of his outstretched fingers]

....Lilith?

[It looks like her. A perfect likeness. She's just... not moving. Her eyes are wide open and glassy.

She's also naked, I mean, that's kind of weird.]

[weird isn't the word. chilling disturbing upsetting scary and his heart still thuds like a drum in chest, breathing a little too rapid. he shakes his head, reminds himself again that it isn't really her. it isn't. Still.]

...No...

[one step back, then two, and he moves closer to one of the other coffins, although he's still watching not!Lilith]

[This coffin contains a teenage girl. She is dressed (in white), but one of her eyes is missing. It looks like it has been brutally ripped out.

Half of her face is shredded and bleeding.

She does not move. Her remaining eye, as well as her mouth, is open.]

[it's unsettling, though less so than the one before because this isn't someone who means anything to him, no-one he knows. he's still casting the occasional glance back in the direction of not!Lilith's coffin, all while telling himself not to do it again. To move forward instead.

On to the next coffin]

[The lid to this coffin is tightly sealed. But, if you tug at it, it opens.

It contains Michael, formerly of Dahlia. Both of his eyes are missing, and his wings are damaged, the bones broken.]

[it takes him a moment to recognise him, memory fuzzy around the edges, but then finally it clicks, and for a moment he forgets about Lilith as his lip curls in distaste. just...ignore him while he reaches in to try yanking and snapping one of Micheal's wings the rest of the way off]

[Yes. Yes, you want to do this. He doesn't need his wing. He will not fly.

It cracks and comes off easily. But the blood that slicks your hand in the process is dark, unhealthy, and congealed.]

[ugh. he'll try wiping it off on Micheal's hair and face.]

[Go ahead. He won't move. You hear,

in his voice.

But his lips aren't moving.]

[Tears off another wing]

[Help me.]

[totally gonna pull off all six wings if nothing will stop him. the nasty blood gets wiped on his hair and face and body]

[Thoughts fill your mind, and a memory overtakes you:

The Servant is hungry.

—Ah, well. That may not be exactly true. But you figure he needs energy nonetheless, through your contract. You are, after all, not a sufficient Master. No Servant would be able to sustain himself on the meager magical energy supply you put out.

You suggest your idea to him. To your (pleasant) surprise, he is agreeable.

You're not sure if it's because he's humoring you, again.

Does it really matter?

You lead him into the basement. He will feed. What happened before provided you with plenty of food. Lucky still, it is food perfectly suited for Servants.

The orphans were placed into your care following that great disaster.

They were unwilling. But, your Servant is appeased. You present him with an arm, first. He consumes the meat.

Now you feed the food—humans—to a great disaster who is like them, a human-like Servant. Slowly... so that the feast will last several years, you hope.

Everything surrounding Michael seems still, now, and there are no longer any thoughts entering your mind.]

[okay...well that...was intense? vaguely it all strikes a chord with him somehow and it leaves him a little breathless, taking a stumbled step back. whoever that is, those memories-- it's disturbing, and he bends double for a moment, taking in big rasping breaths.

eventually he straightens, looks up and around him to see if anything has changed. if there's any way out of this wretched place that doesn't involve slogging back through that awful muck.

....he's trying to keep his eyes off 'Lilith'.]
